 I just returned from Amsterdam with VIP access attending the world’s leading River Cruise Expo, an invitation-only event hosted by the American Society of Travel Advisors.

This event is like no other, because I was able to tour ships from all the major names in river cruising: AmaWaterways, Amadeus, Avalon, Celebrity Cruises, Emerald, Riverside Luxury Cruises, Riviera Travel, Scenic, Tauck, Uniworld, Viking and VIVA—creating a rare opportunity to experience these brands side by side.

From stepping aboard the ships themselves to hearing directly from senior executives about what’s new and what’s coming next, this experience gives me inspiration and the insights to craft the best travel experiences for my clients. 

 Seeing ships firsthand matters. It’s the difference between knowing a brochure and understanding how a stateroom truly feels, how public spaces flow and which onboard touches quietly elevate the experience. Paired with direct conversations with cruise line leadership, this this insight translates into smarter recommendations and better-aligned itineraries, informed by firsthand perspective.
